Scrapheap Challenge is a fun, energetic, competitive team building event that everyone will love!  Teams are tasked with building an airship that will fly across the room, using nothing but the contents of the bulging goody bags handed to them at the start of the event!

As the teams delve into their goody bag overflowing with building equipment, design worksheets and instruction pages, the challenge begins!

Their design may not actually be an airship at all; the teams are asked to think creatively as to whether they design a vehicle, piece of art or a corporate logo just to name a few. As long as it floats, it qualifies!

The matching colour of the helium balloons and t-shirts will visually denote each team and in no time at all, the energising music, chatter and colourful throng of action as the teams huddle over their tables (to keep their strategy secret) generates a positive buzz in the room.

Teams are encouraged to spend time at first designing and planning their strategy. When they move onto the building phase somebody will take the responsibility of foreman and don the hard hat.  At the team’s discretion this responsibility can shift at any point, so others may ‘lead’ the team.

As the time ticks away, each table will be a frenzy of people sticking things together and designing exterior artwork for their design.  When time is up the wacky inventions are primed for takeoff. The ‘anchor’ is released and it’s entirely up to your ‘puffers’ (team members with air pumps) to guide your ship through the course. This adds a simple and effective test of your team communication.

Only a team with a carefully planned and executed design, practical creativity and great communication skills can triumph on this challenge, but everyone will enjoy themselves!

Scrapheap Challenge lasts approximately 1 - 2 hours, is suitable for between 10 and 600 people, and simply require a single suitable room!

WHERE CAN THIS EVENT BE RUN?

This event is completely mobile and can be run anywhere in the United Kingdom.  The only requirement in terms of space is a single large room.
