Our most popular team building activities

Each team or group will have different requirements when it comes to team building events and so as the saying goes, one size certainly doesn’t fit all. That being said, there are some team building activities that prove hugely popular time and time again with a variety of teams and groups.

We have listed our top 5 team building activities below for you to have a look at and hopefully provide some inspiration for your next event.

Quboid

Quboid is based on the much-loved TV programme and is the ultimate test of nerves. Teams will face a variety of different skill-based challenges during this activity.

After a period of time where they can practice their technique, it’s time for a live attempt inside our inflatable Quboid! As you step inside the Quboid you can feel the pressure immediately as the opposing teams look on and watch as you attempt to complete your challenge. Only those with nerves of steel and the skills to pay the bills will emerge from the Quboid victorious!

CSI: Forensic Challenge

This hands-on crime scene investigation team building event never fails to spark people’s curiosity. As well as being hugely fascinating, this team building activity provides guests with the chance to enter the world of crime scene investigation. Working in teams, participants will need to scour our crime scene for clues, analyse evidence, and ultimately catch the killer! This non-physical, competitive event is one of our top picks for large and small groups alike.

Chocolatiers Apprentice

Now – who doesn’t love chocolate? Well, you’re going to love it even more after this activity! After setting up an awesome pop-up kitchen, our expert chocolatier will guide guests through the process of making their very own hand-made chocolates from scratch.

Guests will learn everything there is to know about chocolate during this team building activity and will come away with plenty of delicious truffles. We provide everything required for this team building event and it can easily be run from a standard meeting room or conference suite – no kitchen access required.

Crystal Challenge

The Crystal Challenge is an absolute classic team building event and has been around for years. With four different zones and a huge variety of different challenges for teams to tackle, this activity is our best selling outdoor event. Based on traditional command tasks that require teams to solve various problems through effective teamwork, the Crystal Challenge is the epitomy of team building.

Although this is primarily an outdoor activity, we can run it indoor too if you have enough space.

Escape the Room

This mobile escape room team building event is one of our best sellers! Escape rooms are hugely popular and are great for team building. We have four different themed escape rooms to choose from, all of which are filled with hidden clues, mysterious objects, and cunning challenges that teams will need to figure out if they are going to escape.

Corporate Team Building Activity Frequently Asked Questions

You will no doubt have lots of questions about planning your event and so we have listed some of our most frequently asked questions below.

How much do corporate team building activities cost?

There are lots of factors that affect the price of team building events and the total cost of your activity will vary depending upon which activity you choose; how many people are taking part and where your event will take place. Generally speaking, the more equipment and staff we need to run an event, the higher the price.

We try to make our pricing as transparent as possible and have a clear pricing structure that is used to calculate event costs, which we are happy to share with all our clients.

Take a look at our ‘How much do team building activities cost’ blog post for some more detailed information.

How long will my team building activity last?

Each activity is different when it comes to duration but generally speaking, activities are typically between 2 and 3 hours long. We find that this is a good length of time for most activities and ensures that participants are active and engaged throughout.

Many corporate team building activities are flexible when it comes to duration and can be adjusted to suit your available time. Conference ice breakers and energisers are much shorter (usually around 30 minutes long). These short, sharp activities are great fun and perfect for injecting some energy into an audience.

Who will run my team building event?

All of the team building activities we offer are run by a team of experienced event staff who have years of experience in setting up and running fun team building events.

Your event will be led by an event manager who will be ultimately responsible for ensuring everything runs smoothly. They will also be accompanied by an event crew who will assist with the setting up, running, and clearing down of your activity. For certain events, such as our cooking team building activities we will have specialist instructors/facilitators running your activity.

How many people will run our team building day?

The number of staff needed for each event will depend upon the number of participants taking part and also the activity you have chosen. As you can imagine, some events require a lot more staff than others. Likewise, an event for 250 people is going to require more staff than an event for 10 people. Regardless of the type and size of your activity, we will ensure it is correctly staffed with an experienced team to make sure everyone has a great time.

Will people enjoy a team building event?

Absolutely! The team building activities we offer have been designed with fun in mind (who doesn’t like having a bit of fun)! We appreciate that some people may be a little anxious or shy when it comes to team building activities which is completely understandable. Our team are experts when it comes to getting everyone involved, without anyone feeling pressured or singled out – that’s certainly not what we want.

What are the benefits of team building activities?

There are lots of benefits to a fun, well run and engaging team building activity. As well as being a great way to have some fun with your colleagues, they are a great way to improve communication skills, promote problem-solving, boost teamworking skills, and encourage teamwork. They are also a great way to encourage some healthy competition amongst your team. Take a look at our ‘Benefits of team building activities’ blog post for some more detailed information on why team building is so beneficial.

Do I need a venue for my event?

Unless you are running a virtual team building activity, you will certainly need a venue of some sort. The type of venue needed will depend on what activity you have chosen but often we can run activities from offices, hotels, conference centres, or sports clubs. We are always happy to offer advice on selecting the right kind of venue for your event.

When is the best time to run a team building activity?

This really is a personal preference and will really come down to your schedule and what is going to work best for you and your team. We find that running activities in the afternoon is very popular and is a great way to liven people up after lunch. It’s also great to finish the day on high with everyone feeling motivated and energised after a fun great team activity.

How many people can take part in a corporate team building event?

Almost all of our activities are suitable for any size of group – from 10 people all the way up to 300. Some activities are suitable for event smaller groups of 5 for example, whereas others can accommodate upwards of 500 guests. If you are looking for a team building activity for a particularly small or large group, please get in touch – we would be happy to offer some suggestions for you.

What do I need to do before my event?

Before your event, we will send you an event plan which will contain all of the information you and your colleagues will need for the day. We advise that you share this information with all of those taking part so that they know what to expect and what they need to bring (sun cream, sunglasses, a hat, etc.).

What are your most popular team building activities?

This is a tough one! When it comes to face to face team building activities, The Crystal Challenge, The Big Bake, and CSI: Forensic Challenge are our top picks. Our corporate treasure hunts and mobile escape rooms are also really popular.

If you are looking for a virtual activity for a remote team, then Arctic Survival, Around the World, and Murder on the Train are our most popular options.

How are the teams split on the day?

There are two options when it comes to splitting your group into teams on the day. The first option is to split the groups totally at random. This is the quickest and simplest option and can be done by your event manager on the day. If you choose this option, there is nothing for you to do beforehand – just leave it to us.

The second option is to pre-allocate the teams beforehand.

This is a good solution if you want specific people to be together (or apart). If you would prefer this option, all we ask is that you provide a ‘team list’ to us a few days prior to your event. On the day, your event manager will then split the group according to your team list. Simple!

What documentation will I receive before the event?

The week before your activity we will send you an event plan which will contain all of the details you and the other participants will need. Typically this will include your confirmed timings, location details, information on what to wear/bring, and contact details for the event manager who will be running your activity on the day. We would recommend sending this to everyone taking part so that they are prepared and ready to go!

What will I need to do on the day of my team building activity?

Certainly from a team building perspective, very little. Our team will be on hand to set everything up, welcome your group, run the activity, announce the winners, and clear away afterwards. This should leave you and your colleagues free to relax and enjoy the activity.

What area do you cover?

We are based in Woking, Surrey, just outside of London but the events we run are 100% portable and we don’t have any fixed locations. One of the great things about the activities we offer is that they are completely mobile. This means that we are able to cover the length and breadth of the UK.
